the real meaning of working through the past

"To a mathematician, `clockwise' is the negative direction, as mathematics generally uses a right-handed system." The pathological mathematician could, in theory, regard the passage of time depicted by some standard analog clock as an accumulation of negative time. This poor schmuck will undoubtedly collapse further into its abstract madness, tormented by the reversal of experience. Not even the petty calculations offered by this so-called "pop quiz clock" could offer refuge to the lunatic:
Thus, the "southpaw" mathematicians shall forever triumph in the fields of mathematics and natural sciences, at least as long as the right-handed system is standard. Furthermore, the advantage is given to the left-handed when solving problems in say, electrodynamics, as the calculations may be written with the left hand while the right hand sorts out the direction of the current. Speaking of electrical current—thank you, Benjamin Franklin, for your "backwards" convention. You are truly one of the greatest left-handed thinkers in the history of humanity, and your influence is appreciated to this day.
